Havertz likely to Unite with Man United
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Borrusia Dortmund, Liverpool, and Chelsea have all set their sights on signing the talented diminutive attacking prospect. Manchester United remain the favorite to sign the £70m Bayer Leverkusen star this summer.
Kai Havertz is by a mile one of the most exciting young talents in European football at the moment, since breaking into the first team. At the age of only 20 and having come through the ranks at Leverkusen, he has already knocked 7 caps for the German national team.
He has made 143 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen and already has 30 assists and 43 goals to his name. These amazing stats have got top Teams across Europe salivating for his signature.
Chelsea is the only team closer to Manchester United for his signature according to various reports. They have identified him as their main attacking target and Chelsea legend and Coach Frank Lampard is known to be an admirer of Kai’s style of play.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to be very active in the transfer market this summer as he continues his rebuilding job at Old Trafford and Havertz would be an excellent signing if United could win the race for his signature.
The German young star is predominantly an attacking player with some versatility thereby playing through the right and through the middle. That would give The Manchester United manager the much-needed options at the front. Ole Gunnar has a richly attacking team with Bruno Fernandes, Martial, Rashford, Greenwood, David James, Lingard, and Mata but a little incapacitated at the right.
Kai Havertz has only two years remaining on his contract with Leverkusen and he is unlikely to sign a contract extension as he craves a new challenge and prefers a move away from Germany. Snapping him won’t come cheap and he will cost around 70 million Euros plus a few add ons.
Manchester United will have to be prepared to dig deep into their wallet if they want to sign Havertz this summer, but I think it would be money well spent as he’s destined to develop into one of the best players in world football over the coming years.
